We decided to take a trip to Yellowstone and the Tetons over Mother's Day this year. It was a pretty long drive (~12 hours), but Beau did fantastic, partly in thanks to the DVD player the
Kerrigan's let us barrow and all of the wonderful
Backyardigan DVD's we borrowed from the library. It was a fantastic trip!!! Here are some of the highlights.
Beau spotted this moose at the gas station in Wilson, WY and gave him to me as my Mother's Day present!!! It was my first
official moose spotting and I was REALLY excited.
We were able to watch Old Faithful
erupt as promised!
Beau took his sandwich
eating very seriously and made sure he got as much in his mouth as possible.
Beau was happy to not be in a backpack or stroller and enjoyed sitting on the bench all by himself.
Us with the Lower Falls in the background.
It was neat to be there in the Spring and see so many babies!! It's hard to believe that this little guy will someday be a HUGE buffalo.
During the many hours in the car we worked with Beau on showing us how old he is.
Here's the official animal count for the trip...
Buffalo/Bison - Way too many to count
Elk - a lot
Antelope - quite a few
Bears - 6 (2 moms and 4 cubs)
Moose - 3
Coyote - 1
