Bath Time

Beau really looks forward to bath time now because he usually gets to finger paint before hand. He is really helpful and gets out the paints and paper for us. Recently he has gotten into painting himself...

It took some work to make this pictures acceptable for viewing by all!

Busy Weekend with Grandma B

Grandma Bennetts was able to come spend the weekend with us while Uncle Corbin was at a wrestling camp at Mines. It was a nice (but hot) weekend, so we were able to do some fun things..

We took Beau to play his first round of miniature golf at the same place Dustin and I went on our first date. It is a great place with lots of entertainment. He was somewhat interested.

This was at the beginning before his ball disappeared.

Beau didn't quite understand the point was to play each hole.

Mom was nice enough to share her ball with Beau. Even with Beau's help, Dad still managed to win. He was the one keeping score, so that seems a little suspect :o)
We also went to Buffalo Bill Days in Golden, which has become and annual tradition.

Yes, I am a bad mom and let Beau eat some of my nachos. He really liked them!

Grandma B and Beau took a train ride around Golden together. To no surprise, he didn't want to get off.

Wish I could have gone too!

Beau and daddy were "skipping" rocks in Clear Creek.

Surprise, Beau didn't want to stop doing that either. I am sure he will appreciate this pictures someday :o)

Summer Smorgasbord

It's hard to believe it's already the end of July. We have been having a great summer. Here are some highlights...

Beau enjoying the view at Standley Lake

Beau making mommy and him some lunch

Beau enjoying the camels at the zoo

I love this face...

Beau making "puff" muffins

We signed Beau up for a tumbling class and he has really enjoyed it. He can almost do a forward roll (i.e. somersault) by himself and he is can now "skin the cat" without letting go. His favorite part is at the end when they get stickers and stamps. I can't even say those two words anymore without him looking for some.

Grandma Bennetts got Beau a water table for BV. He really likes it and kept moving water from the fountain to it.

Grandma Bennetts also got Beau a chair. He and dad enjoyed a cold drink together.

We spent the evening of the 4th of July at the Dinkel's house. It poured, however, the guys set off fountains for the kids and Beau loved them!

Should I be worried that he likes fire?

Kendra made Beau this robe...

Dad and Beau at the Lake Arbor Pool.

Beau and I made our first trip to the Children's Museum. I hadn't been there in a long time and he had a great time. He really like the grocery store, as I remember I did too when I was little!!!!! He bought lots of bananas.

He checked himself out.
Hope you all are having a great summer!!!!

Our Wild Backyard

I never imagined that our backyard would attract so many animals!!! We practically have had our own Backyardigans (sorry for those of you who have no idea what I am talking about). For about a week straight, we had a fox living in our backyard. I think he liked the shade and the fact that we don't have a dog. He would just lay in the grass all day. It was fantastic entertainment for Beau...

The fox is hard to see in this picture, but I wanted to prove it was really our backyard...

Our very own fox....

This next animal tale is sad, so skip it if you want. We got some siding quotes and while we were walking around the house I noticed a ball of fur rolled up against the fence...
Turns out it was a little raccoon... He disappeared after a few hours so I figured he left, however, the next morning I looked outside and he was laying in the middle of our yard.

We figured this wasn't a good sign since it was the middle of the day and really hot. I called animal control and they came over to check him out. They were able to pick him up with only gloves on and he didn't move much. They tried to give him water and clean him up, but he didn't make it :o( It was so sad to have them carry him out in a bag, poor little guy! Beau kept looking for him, which made it even more sad.
It has been fun seeing the animals, however, I now have to do a sweep of the backyard to make sure I am not letting Beau run around with wild animals...

The Animal Lover

Beau is finally making progress in his animal sounds. He can do a sheep, cow, lion, pig, horse, and elephant. He loves seeing all of the animals and whenever we point out a horse, he always signs that he wants "more."

We visited Woody in BV over the 4th of July and Beau was able to sit on him. He couldn't get enough of him...
It's funny to me that Woody is 5 months younger than Beau :o)

Good form Beau!

Beau seems to love all animals, including cats, which he didn't get from me. He followed poor Henry (Ava's cat) around all night on the 4th of July and pulled his tail. Henry was great with him and kept coming back for more.

He especially loves Tyler, Blake's dog. He thinks it is fun to ride her like a horse and she is SO good with him...

Bennetts' Family Get Together

We had a really busy 4th of July weekend! We went to BV, then over to Tincup to meet up with the Fruita gang...

Beau loved this little chair... Yes, I bought him one when we got home ;O)
