Grandpa Bennetts' Cowboy Hat

It is so hard to believe that Dustin's dad has been gone for 6 months now. A lot has certainly changed in the short amount of time, however, we all still miss him dearly and I can still hear his voice.

When we were in BV at Christmas, he put Beau in one of his cowboy hats. He had done the same thing with Dustin when he was a baby....

Our tiny little guy in Grandpa's hat
We got the cowboy hat to keep for Beau so that he will always have something to remember his grandpa by...
He's grown so much and is already turning into a little cowboy! Giddy up daddy!!!!

Summer Fun

It is so hard to believe that it is the middle of July! The summer is going by so fast and Beau is growing very quickly. He is turning into a curious little boy and I am going to have my hands full!

Beau loves his car/walker!

I was able to get a picture of him sitting on it before he realized that it was a walker too!

Beau has been a fantastic eater and we have been lucky that he doesn't appear to have any allergies yet! We just introduced meat to him yesterday and it appears that his tummy is having to adjust to the meats.
Beau enjoying a piece of cantaloupe in his mesh holder

It didn't take him long to try and get the entire thing in his mouth
Beau thought it would be fun to pull all of his books of the bookshelf.
He seemed to be quite content, so I wasn't going to stop him!
Beau's friend Claudia recommended graham crackers and Beau LOVES them now. If I get out the package he know what he's getting.
We have been enjoying story time! Beau loves seeing his friend Ava and Mommy and Beth have a good time talking. This past week some of us had a picnic after story time, which was lots of fun!

Beau's first bowling trip

As part of the summer reading club at the library, Beau got a pass to go bowling and several other fun places around town. This past weekend I decided it was finally time to go. Dustin and I were supposed to have gone bowling the weekend Beau was born, so I figured Dustin has waiting long enough!
Beau was really excited to hear that we were going bowling!!!!
He patiently waited as Mommy set up the computer and Daddy rounded up the balls.
He checked the screen for when it was his turn...
Beau bowling his first ball
He was strong!
Great job Beau!
Beau knocked down 3 pins on his first ball. Daddy knocked down ZERO!
Beau gave Daddy a few pointers on how to improve his game.
Beau thinks he is ready for his own bowling shoes...

Beau and Capriana

It's hard to believe how quickly Beau and Capriana are growing! Both are still very small (1st percentile by weight), but they certainly give each other a hard time and are well aware of one another now.

Jenny and I started our own "book club" so that we would have an excuse to get together on a regular basis. It has been fantastic and we just finished reading The Power of a Positive Mom. I would highly recommend this book to any mom, especially if you have young children.

Capriana isn't afraid of Beau and has made him cry on several occasions when she pushed him over. Beau, being a gentleman, did not push back and has resorted to slobbering on her...

Beau giving Capriana some "kisses"
I have been lucky enough to get to watch Capriana (who is my Goddaughter) several times while Jenny is at a meeting. Last week Capriana had kept Jenny up all night the night before and wasn't her usual happy self :o( Anytime she would cry, Beau would cry too! I managed to get Beau to sleep while bouncing him on my leg and Capriana to relax on my shoulder. I am very grateful to only have one baby right now.

Beau was happy to share his toys with Capriana

4th of July

Grandma and Grandpa Wolfe came over to our place to go swimming on Thursday night since we all didn't have to work on Friday. The weather was a little cool, so we didn't end up getting to swim for very long, but Beau enjoyed it.

Mommy, Beau, and Grandpa swimming

We decided to take Beau on his first hike on the 3rd. We went to White Ranch Park outside of Golden (which the Bennetts' family used to own) so that we weren't too far from home. Beau did great and we only got a few sprinkles. We are going to have to start looking into a backpack for him now.

Beau was very happy on the whole hike

Beau enjoyed the rocks
We went to the Pergola's on the 4th for a BBQ. They had a pool for the kids, but the weather was a little too cool. After, we went to Mass and then to Great Grandma Wolfe's for dinner. We were planning to go watch the fireworks from the 'M,' however. Beau had other ideas and we had to pull off the highway near Bandimere Speedway (they do fireworks there). There were lots of other cars, so we decided just to hang out there. We hung around until 10:15pm, but there were still no fireworks so we gave up! I guess the rain had delayed or cancelled the show. We did have a good view of the city, so we enjoyed the other shows nearby.

Time with the Langness'

We were fortunate enough to get to hang out with the Langness' several time while they were in Colorado. For those of you who read Emily's BLOG you already know all of this because she is MUCH better at posting than me, but I am not giving up yet!

We are not giving up on getting them to move back to Colorado!!!!!!

Noah, Breven, and Emily joined Beau and I for story time, which was great!

Beau and Breven became instant buddies.

Beau enjoyed having a guy pal around to talk about guy things with.

It's obviously already that these two are going to cause trouble together!

No Coors Lab trip is complete until you get a picture by the Copper Kettle!
